Victorian Building Industry Disputes Panel
The Victorian Building Industry Disputes Panel (VBIDP) is an independent body established by the commercial building and construction industry to provide dispute resolution in respect to employment related issues arising in the industry in Victoria.
The VBIDP is referred to in numerous federal industrial instruments applying in the industry, particularly enterprise bargaining agreements (“EBAs”). Disputes resolution processes incorporated in such instruments provide a central role for the VBIDP in dispute prevention and resolution. Industry unions, employers and employer associations therefore are able to have recourse to the VBIDP to resolve industrial disputes occurring within the industry. The VBIDP provides the industry parties with an opportunity to talk freely without transcripts and resolve issues without resort to potentially costly and lengthy legal proceedings.
The VBIDP consists of a Chairperson and Panel Members, each of whom has extensive experience and expertise in all facets of industrial relations and disputes resolution in the commercial building and construction industry.
